Name:  God is Gracious DeShawn and Your Future’s Bright Destiny So Truly Real™ Dolls

Made by and When: Lorna Miller-Sands/Ashton-Drake Galleries, 2004

Material: Real Touch™ vinyl/silicone heads, lower arms and legs; cloth upper arms and legs and bodies

Marks: (Heads) L.M.S.04. / ©A.D.G.; (Destiny) hand-signed by the artist on the stomach

Height: 22 inches

Hair, Eyes, Mouths: (DeShawn) dark-brown curly synthetic mohair; (Destiny, restyled by the curator) dark-brown rooted spiral curls applied over the doll’s original dark-brown mohair wavy hair. Deshawn’s eyes are closed; Destiny’s eyes are brown stationary. Both dolls have applied upper eyelashes. The mouths are closed and open-closed, respectively.

Clothes: (DeShawn) blue short overalls, white shirt, disposable diaper; (Destiny) pink dress with blue smocking at the bodice, white lace trim at the collar and sleeves, disposable diaper. Their feet were originally bare.

Other: DeShawn and Destiny were the first dolls in the So Truly Real™ Little Delights Collection for Ashton-Drake by Lorna Miller-Sands.
