Material: Bisque head with ball-jointed composition and wood body
Marks: Head is marked 1358 Germany / Simon Halbig 7.
Height: 17 inches
Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Original black wig, brown glass sleep eyes with painted upper and lower eyelashes and black brush-stroked eyebrows, open mouth with four upper teeth and orange-red lip color
Clothes: Dressed in a period-appropriate Moroccan-style costume
Other: Made in Germany, Simon & Halbig 1358 mold with broad facial features was used for brown and black character dolls. This lovely doll placed first in a 1995 antique dolls competitive event at UFDC’s 46th Annual Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. See a lighter-brown-complexioned, 19-inch version here.
