Other: Founded by Maritza Gutierrez, Maru and Friends Tanya originated as one of the original three 20-inch child-like, multicultural dolls sculpted by Dianna Effner for the company. Introduced in 2008, this doll is the first-released Maru and Friends Tanya. At least one other version followed. Gutierrez also wrote the doll’s hardcover book, Forever Friends. In the book, Tanya is an army brat who moves to different locations each time her dad changes command. She becomes friends with Maru and Jamie (the other two original dolls) after her family relocates once again.
