Clothes/Accessories: The red satin slim silhouette gown has a sweetheart neckline, a shoulder drape, and a sheer drape to reveal one leg. Red high-heels and a gold-tone cuff bracelet embellished with red faux stones complete the desired homage to the 1st Black Barbie. Packaging includes a doll stand and a certificate of authenticity
Other: Kitty Black Perkins was enlisted by Mattel to create the Black Barbie 45th Anniversary doll, which is presented in a box adorned with diamond shapes of brown, gold, and tan. This deep-complexioned doll is a tribute to Kitty Black Perkins (Mattel’s first African American doll designer) and the 1st Black Barbie designed by Perkins and released in 1980. The back of the box features a headshot of Perkins and a picture of the 1st Black Barbie. The back-of-box text affirms in English and several other languages that, Barbie celebrates Black History Month with a 45th-anniversary tribute to the first ever Black Barbie doll and her creator Kitty (Louvenia) Black Perkins.
