Name: Lelia
Made by and When: Elisabeth Lindner, 2002
Material: Hard-cast vinyl head, torso, upper and lower arms, and legs; tan cloth lower body, mid-arms, and upper legs
Marks: (Head) E Lindner / Gotz / 533-78; (upper back) Lison
Height: 27-1/2 inches
Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Brown wavy human hair wig is styled in two side pigtails with a side swept curly bang that is accented with two rosettes, brown stationary glass eyes, closed mouth with dark rose lip color.
Clothes: The Gotz-labeled maroon shantung silk dress has a smocked bodice with ribbon rosette accents, a white collar with a pink ribbon rosette on each, and white cuffs. Lelia wears a white underskirt, lace-trimmed pantalettes, maroon suede Mary Jane shoes worn over white lace-trimmed ankle socks, and a matching purse slung across the chest that bears the Gotz label.
Other: Lelia is from a limited edition of 1000 dolls made in Germany, has armature for posing, and pellet-weighted upper arms, upper legs, and buttocks. The fingernails and toenails are manicured. A Gotz bracelet, a detailed hangtag attached to the dress, and a certificate of authenticity accompanied the doll. Another version of Lelia dressed in pink was also available. Because of Lelia’s deep tan complexion, the doll’s ethnicity is ambiguous and can be determined by the owner.
